Kristin McWhorter, CAE

Kristin has been the Executive Director of NPFDA since 1992. She has overseen many years of changes and improvements within the association and has taken the association from a large negative on the balance sheet to an organization with multiple years of reserves. Through her leadership, the organization has grown from approximately 200 member companies to almost 300 member companies. The Annual convention has grown from 450 to over 1200 registrations. Before joining NPFDA, she worked with Poultry & Egg News, ConAgra and Gold Kist. She is a graduate of the University of Georgia and has a degree in Agricultural Economics with a Marketing Specialty. She went to North Georgia College and Andrew Jackson University in pursuit of a Masters Degree in Public Administration. She is a Certified Association Executive (CAE). Fewer than 5 percent of all association professionals achieve the CAE designation. She was named one of Georgia’s Top 90 Movers and Shakers and received the President’s Award and the Alan R Johnson Award from the Georgia Society of Association Executives. She also received the Award of Excellence from the University of Georgia -College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences Alumni Association.
Alina Cooper, CAE
Membership Relations & Communications Director
Alina Cooper, CAE is an Association Specialist assisting organizations in achieving their membership development, committee management and marketing goals. Alina previously worked for the American Culinary Federation (ACF). At ACF, she was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Certification department of over 12,000 certificants. She oversaw certification products, delivery operations, department's profit and loss, candidate compliance, exam development, accreditation activities, vendor contracts/relationships, and reporting for the national member-based organization. Alina also managed the Business Law and Workers Compensation Sections of The Florida Bar. She was responsible for meeting planning, budgets, and continuing legal education programs, certification and various membership development functions. During her tenure with The Florida Bar, she gained valuable knowledge in program planning, development, marketing and communication and a deep appreciation volunteer boards. She is a proud graduate of Florida State University with a B.S. in Communication.
Member Services & Development Director
Carol Lanham is our new Support and Sales staffer. Carol loves to pick up the phone and call Members about anything, from welcoming them to the association to selling the big sponsorship to recruiting new members. She is very excited about her new role with NPFDA and is looking forward to speaking with every member. Carol Lanham has come to NPFDA with the goal of putting to use her talents in sales and excellent customer service. As a former sales manager for the local radio station in Camden County, Georgia, Carol was simply known as Carol from K-BAY. Her responsibilities were not only in sales, but in in production and voice over work, which she continues to do on a freelance basis. Her organization skills were put to the test as the St Marys Georgia Mardi Gras Parade Director for 4 years. During that time, the parade grew to be the largest of all the county's festivals with the most floats and attendees. Carol is the mother of 3, and Grandmother of 3. She is a member of The Camden County Chamber of Commerce and The Rotary Club of Kings Bay, where she has started a reading tutoring program. She also serves The Saint Marys RiverKeeper as The Fundraising Director and Board Advisory Council.
