  • Kristin McWhorter, CAE—Executive Director, Corp. Secretary
    Kristin has been the Executive Director of NPFDA since 1992.  She has overseen many years of changes and improvements within the association and has taken the association from a large negative on the balance sheet to an organization with multiple years of reserves.  Through her leadership, the organization has grown from approximately 200 member companies to almost 300 member companies.  The Annual convention has grown from 450 to over 1200 registrations. Before joining NPFDA, she worked with Poultry & Egg News, ConAgra and Gold Kist. She is a graduate of the University of Georgia and has a degree in Agricultural Economics with a Marketing Specialty. She went to North Georgia College and Andrew Jackson University in pursuit of a Masters Degree in Public Administration. She is a Certified Association Executive (CAE). Fewer than 5 percent of all association professionals achieve the CAE designation. She was named one of Georgia’s Top 90 Movers and Shakers and received the President’s Award and the Alan R Johnson Award from the Georgia Society of Association Executives. She also received the Award of Excellence from the University of Georgia -College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences Alumni Association.

    Cynthia Cochran - Meeting and Sales Director
    Cynthia joined NPFDA as a Temporary Staff member in 2011. Since then she has been the (smiling) face of NPFDA at the Annual Convention in Atlanta.  She is always at the registration desk and is always too happy to help our members with registration, information and new member sales. She joined us as temp staff in August of 2016 and did such a great job, we offered her a permanent position as NPFDA's Meeting and Sales Administrator. She helps with a broad range of duties at NPFDA above and beyond Meetings and Sales. She is a Magna Cum Laude Graduate of North Georgia College and holds a Management Degree. When she is not working for NPFDA, framing artwork, or helping her uncle at his blueberry farm, she sells her own line of jewelry - https://www.cynthiamcochran.com .  Cynthia LOVES her dogs and is always rescuing somebody.  When she is not doing any of the above, you might find her hiking the Appalachian Trail.     Alina Cooper, CAE - Membership and Communications Manager
    Alina Cooper, CAE is an Association Specialist assisting organizations in achieving their membership development, committee management and marketing goals. Alina previously worked for the American Culinary Federation (ACF). At ACF, she was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Certification department of over 12,000 certificants. She oversaw certification products, delivery operations, department's profit and loss, candidate compliance, exam development, accreditation activities, vendor contracts/relationships, and reporting for the national member-based organization. Alina also managed the Business Law and Workers Compensation Sections of The Florida Bar. She was responsible for meeting planning, budgets, and continuing legal education programs, certification and various membership development functions. During her tenure with The Florida Bar, she gained valuable knowledge in program planning, development, marketing and communication and a deep appreciation volunteer boards. She is a proud graduate of Florida State University with a B.S. in Communication.
