Mountaire President Amanda Irwin now also the CEO

Amanda Irwin has been named chief executive officer of Mountaire Farms, a subsidiary of Mountaire Corp., the company announced on June 16.
Irwin, who became president of the company following the December 2024 retirement of Phillip Plylar, adds the CEO title to her responsibilities.
Irwin joined Mountaire Farms at age 19 as a summer intern in quality assurance and has spent her entire career with the company. She held numerous roles at the Millsboro and Selbyville, Delaware, plants and also worked in live operations, human resources and sales before returning to plant operations. She was named vice president of processing operations in 2020, executive vice president of processing operations and sales in 2023, chief operating officer in 2024 and president on January 2025, before also being named CEO.
Ronnie Cameron, chairman and CEO of Mountaire Corporation, said Irwin's expanded role is a natural progression of her career with the company.
"Amanda leads as Jesus teaches us, to do for others as we would have them do for us," Cameron said. "Everyone cares about her because they know how much she cares about them."
Irwin said she is committed to building on the company's foundation.
"I am deeply honored by the trust that Ronnie Cameron and our board of directors has placed in me," she said. "As we look ahead, I am committed to supporting our team members and continuing to deliver for our customers and communities while staying true to the values that have always guided us."
Irwin has a bachelor's degree in animal industries from Clemson University and a master's degree in human resources from Wilmington University. She lives in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, with her two sons, Oakley and Dane.
