Pilgrim’s tops some sustainability goals, still working on others

Pilgrim’s Pride Corp. reported progress on meeting sustainability targets for 2020, although the poultry processor also said more work needs to be done in certain areas.

The Greeley, Colo.-based company said milestones reached in the most recent period include:

• Reducing greenhouse gas emission – down 20%, exceeding 14% goal
• Reducing electricity use intensity – down 13%, exceeding 12% goal
• Reducing natural gas use intensity – down 11% vs. 14% goal
