Environ Insider- March Issue
Environ Insider- March IssueA Note on Current U.S. Affairs We are compiling insights on recent U.S. presidential executive actions affecting transparency and sustainability disclosure, specifically in areas like DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) policies, foreign corruption practices, climate-related disclosures, and double materiality. Notably, the Department of Justice is scrutinizing DEI initiatives, and the suspension of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act weakens anti-bribery enforcement. Meanwhile, climate disclosures remain vital, with growing emphasis on environmental, social and governance (ESG) reporting, particularly in light of regulatory changes in the European Union (EU) and the ongoing need for materiality assessments. Organizations should proactively adapt to these shifts and consult legal counsel for tailored advice. We will continue to keep clients abreast of the ever-changing disclosure landscape. If you’re interested in how we can advise your organization as you navigate the road ahead, send me an email at nmancilla@environenergy.com. |
